This neighborhood coin laundry enjoys a loyal base of local customers. In business for 15 years, this Broward County Laundromat has ample parking and no competition in the immediate area. The coin laundry is clean, has low overhead, a large office, 21 washers and 18 dryers. One video machine and one soda machine convey with the sale, and the laundry currently shares profits on another game machine.
There is potential for growth by adding complementary services, such as commercial accounts and dry cleaning drop-offs.
Edwin Peña, Murphy’s Florida Southeast franchisee and a Florida business broker, was the transactional broker for the seller and also represented the buyer. Peña, who was the third franchisee for Murphy (there are 133 currently), opened his office ten years ago in Boca Raton, Fla., and manages the Murphy region that serves clients from Palm Beach to the Florida Keys.
Peña brings more than 24 years management experience in the beverage industry, including representing internationally known soft drink brands and Fortune 500 companies.
Peña has received numerous awards in his business brokerage career, including the prestigious Multi-Million Dollar Award from the Business Brokers of Florida (BBF) and the BBF’s Florida Millionaire Club Award – both for five consecutive years. He has served as an advisory board member for Murphy Business for the past five years and was awarded Murphy’s highest honor, Business Broker of the Year.
Fluent in Spanish, Peña graduated cum laude from Baruch College.
